Il suo cinema è sempre racconto soggettivo e singolare che procede seguendo il filo teso dell’emozione. I protagonisti dei suoi film sono tutti cercatori solitari di libertà, viaggiatori, apolidi, migranti che guardano il mondo (il Libano, la Francia) da stranieri, interpellandolo sul passato rimosso e sugli argomenti proibiti. Evento realizzato in collaborazione con Ambasciata di Francia, Institut Français Italia, e Institut Français di Firenze.Danielle Arbid, a Lebanese who moved to Paris in her teen years, has directed feature films and documentaries of short, medium, and full length. Her cinema is always a subjective, first-person narrative told on an emotional edge. The leading characters of her films are lone seekers of freedom, travellers, stateless per- sons, or migrants who look at the world (Lebanon, France) with foreign eyes, chal- lenging its repressed past and forbidden topics. Scoprirà che Samir, il foto- grafo, non c’è più, è partito anche lui, e che l’edificio che una volta era la casa di famiglia è sul punto di svanire, raso al suolo dalle ruspe.Venerdì 25 novembre, La Compagnia, ore 18:30In 1996, a young woman of Lebanese origin returns to Beirut after years of absence, feeling like a foreigner. She’s looking for the photographer who took a picture of her house before it was reduced to ruins during the war. She will find out that Samir, the photographer, is not there either, he left too.
